How the Gaia Computer Will Solve Climate Change

When I first met Roger Holliday, he was working as Chief Adjunct Biotic Control Specialist at the FunSphere facility in Westnorthsouth Central Seatac Shopping District.

Roger’s LinkedIn profile described him as a “bud bard”, which immediately resonated with me, and nary a blossom unfolded nor an insect farted within those Spheres without his express knowledge and intimate involvement.

The Spheres were a prototype for the now-familiar Martian Mall Terraforming & Colonization Project, funded by Musk Melon Technologies. but I’m getting ahead of myself…

These were different times. When humanity still struggled with the lack of dedicated duplexing with its own Planet of Origin. Embarrassing really, but Roger was poised to change all that.

Roger — an enthusiaste and early adopter at heart — was already dogfooding Richard Rider’s early Lawn Computer prototypes, which he himself had funded by Kickstartering a revival of a lawn technology system from the 1940’s, with a modern spin.

Dick Wood’s Lawn Computer

There were not many people in the world then who had graduated from the University of Malta with both an MBA and a PhD in Ancient Hittite. And of that small group, everyone knew Roger was the best. And since some of our critical infrastructure and legacy systems were programmed in a difficult dialect of Old Hittite EmojiQNL, I knew we needed him.

Something from our blockchain

But you don’t just win someone like Roger Holliday away from a “dream job” like working for Amazong, controlling their FunSpheres, unless you have a much bigger and better dream to offer.

Fortunately, we did. With Richard’s black box living neural net technology, and Ted’s ability to sell lightning back to the sky at a discounted rate, I knew we had something which might tempt Roger on to greater things.

The Gaia Computer

The Gaia Computer is a distributed planetary sensing network, capable of optimizing feedback loops in real time and reifying communication channels between diverse system actors.

In short, the Gaia Computer allows us to communicate with Nature. In words we can all understand. Authentic two-way communication with a grid of active listeners, and the perceptual system and biologically-augmented neural nets to translate Nature’s words into plain language.

I had repeated my flash presentation to myself a hundred times in preparation for meeting Roger that day on the floor of the TimeSpace Pavilion in the Central FunSphere. I was confident, but still not “ready.” I would never be, incidentally. The enormity of it all was just too… enormous. I hoped Roger would sense that too.

The sun shone through the stained glass windows commissioned by Waldrop Dureker, Ultant Obulon at Amazong. They say he came from higher-dimensional space, and that energetically, he had parasitically infected the bodies of employees with his own mad desire to go back there.

“Majestic, isn’t it?”

Roger appeared out of the foliage, removing his CheirOS gloves to shake my hand. We both smiled and I knew everything would be okay.
